T-FAKTOR
T-FAKTOR is a side project of HELLRAVER (a.k.a. DJ HELLRAVER) of the hard hitting industrial power noise phenomenon know as TERRORFAKT. The T-FAKTOR project began in 2002 with the release of "Terrorfakt Presents T-Faktor - Music From Antartica - A Collection Of B-Sides And Outtakes" and has since released various one-off remixes and compilation appearances.
Compared to TERRORFAKT, T-FAKTOR is more 'fluid' and experimental, providing an alternate outlet to the forward hard hitting sound of TERRORFAKT. Similar in some ways, and certainly including several "danceable" tracks, the T-FAKTOR sound also contains elements that TERRORFAKT does not explore, representing a departure from the standard power-noise formula. In the artist’s own words "The writing process is different for me at least and I think my thought process behind each song is different. While they may seem like they would work for some people, I don't find them 'TERRORFAKT-ish'. Maybe it's ME, but they just don't belong on the same CD as say 'Mephisto or Warlord' or 'Welcome To Hell'.. T-FAKTOR is sure to satisfy hardcore TERRORFAKT fans as well as reach a broader audience.
As DJ HELLRAVER, he is known for melding traditional, old school Industrial and its hard-hitting beats with the fluidity of Electronica and bass-heavy Techno. Tired of the same music sets, the same one-sided approach to format, and the limited variety of the crowd, old faces are resurfacing and are reveling in HELLRAVER's new take on the underground scene. This, above all things, is what motivates his DJ work. It's the theory that if you take several things, all similar in certain aspects, and tweak key elements of each, you can create a homogenous mixture that appeals to many, rather than one specific group.
HELLRAVER's most well known original work has been as "TERRORFAKT" Influenced by such established artists as Controlled Bleeding, Monolith, Neurosis, Merzbow, Manufactura, and Synapscape, TERRORFAKT's sound ranges from powerful dance floor anthems to ambient sound scapes and pure experimental noise structures. After self releasing several albums, such as 2001's "We Know Pain", TERRORFAKT was signed to Tinman Records and released the album Deconstruction in 2003. TERRORFAKT returned with their second release in August of 2004 on Metropolis Records, "Cold Steel World" contained brutal rhythms designed to turn any dance floor into a war zone like frenzy. Both albums were a huge club hits in the United States and across the globe.
His DJ work, TERRORFAKT releases, and relentless touring (over 350 shows in the U.S./Canada and over 70 shows in Europe) has elevated HELLRAVER to a true legend and pioneer in the underground industrial scene. This rich history combined with the strength of the T-FAKTOR material itself is sure to make this release a cult classic. We fully expect this first pressing to sell out.
